Cadets

Our welcoming, family friendly sailing club is looking for young people to join our youth sailing programme and boost our cadet section.

No experience is necessary, we have lots of beginners who are starting out and learning the basics but all levels of sailing skill catered to with the opportunity to gain RYA qualifications.

The sessions are supported by RYA instructors, experienced sailors and parents to ensure all our young sailors receive the support they need to be safe and have a fun experience on and off the water. We want to foster a love for sailing and develop confidence on the water and for life.

We currently have children aged 5-15.

All sailing equipment and wetsuits are provided free of charge for children and we have a range of club sailing dinghies to cater to the needs of our young sailors including Optibats, Toppers, Fevas, Laser 2000s and Visions.

We are back on the water now with weekly sessions on Saturday afternoons for sailing and other fun depending on the weather conditions on the day.

Sessions run from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm with the option to socialise at the club afterwards. We have a well stocked galley and a great bar for club members and guests and we often set up the large club BBQ out on our decking area. There is a great camaraderie between our young sailors and they enjoy the apres sailing just as much as their time on the water.

Parents must accompany their young sailors at the club and as such we offer a number of opportunities for parents/guardians to learn to sail and drive powerboats through the club training programmes.

All parents are looked after and given the tour of the club house and shown how to get involved.

In the summer holidays, Club Week offers the chance for sailing everyday during a whole week at the start of August, which is very popular with our young sailors.
