August Afloat (with FREE boat hire !)

To encourage and support use of the club for cadet and family activities we have organised a series of family-focused events on Saturdays throughout August; (1st, 8th, 15th, 22th & 29th). We will have a number of pre-rigged club boats and kayaks available for FREE booking.
On these days there will be a dedicated Safety Boat team who will be on the water to assist where needed and an Officer of the Day who will oversee all activities from the promenade; keeping everyone aware of social distancing and co-ordinating dry side activities.

Or bring your own boat, kayak and a picnic and join us to open up the club again for family activities and return us to our Family Sailing At Its Best club focus. There will of course be slight differences in the way we need to conduct ourselves around the buildings, keeping in mind social distancing and PPE as appropriate.
Boat and kayak slots are as follows and be ready to go on the water at the start time of your slot.
Saturday 1st August Hire slots: 10.30-11.45 or 11:45-13.00
Saturday 8th August Hire slots: 12.30-13.45 or 13:45-15.00
Saturday 15th August Hire slots: 10.30-11.45 or 11:45-13.00
Saturday 22nd August Hire slots: 12.30-13.45 or 13.45-15.00
Uptake and feedback throughout the August will inform how much interest there is for a special weekend of activities on the August Bank holiday, 28th to 31st of August; advertising events and activities for this 'carnival of sailing' nearer the time.
We would especially love to see our less experienced, family and cadet members return to the club through August and hope that you will support us as we have been supporting you through these unprecedented times.
Let's all get Afloat for August and bring the family atmosphere back to Herne Bay Sailing Club.
