HBSC re-opening March 2021

Published 00:00 on 28 Mar 2021

Dear members,

I'm delighted to confirm that from Monday 29th March Herne Bay Sailing Club will re-open, operating under the restrictions outlined in Step One of the government's roadmap.

This means that all our outdoor facilities will be open from Monday. Indoor facilities such as the clubhouse and the changing rooms may not be used at this time, although the toilets may be used. Members are required to maintain social distancing and follow the Rule of 6 / two households while outdoors. If accessing the toilets, members must wear a face covering, unless exempt, and sign in or use the Track and Trace QR code.

Boats may be moved from the 29th March. The gate key will temporarily be attached to the whiteboard in the corridor while the lounge is out of use.

Please continue to follow Hands. Face. Space. If all things go well, the government will relax the regulations and we will slowly be able to return to business as usual.

We are starting to put (provisional) dates on Centenary events:

You are cordially invited to the Commodores' Reception on Friday 6th August. Join members and past and present Commodores to recall some of HBSC's history and stories and toast the last 100 and the next 100 years. Another date for your diaries is a weekend of sailing and shore-side entertainment as part of the HBSC 100 Dawn to Dusk 24 hours race on 17th and 18th July.

I hope to see you enjoying Herne Bay's Biggest Beach Hut frequently this year. I will update you as soon as the next step in the roadmap is reached, which will hopefully be the 12th April.

Regards,
Clare
