HBSC Bulletin Issue 6

Welcome to edition 6 of the Bulletin the regular communication keeping you updated about all aspects of club life, for all club members. The aim is that there is something for everyone and to encourage participation and involvement. We hope that you will find it informative and interesting.

Sailing this weekend

*Tomorrow's scheduled racing is postponed to later on in the year*

BUT the bar will be open from 7pm on Good Friday please pop down for an Easter pint. The bar also stocks a range of non-alcoholic beers too, as well as a range of gins, wines, soft drinks

There is sailing on Saturday, Sunday AND Monday and the galley is also stocked of tasty things!

Saturday Sailing starts this weekend!

What is Saturday Sailing?? These are open sailing sessions for any ability. Where possible, an instructor or experienced sailor will be available to support you on the water. You do not need to sign up and it's a case of 'turn up, sails up'.

Ian Moore has taken on the role of Saturday Open Sailing Co-ordinator and he is looking for instructors and experienced sailors to assist and support the Saturday Sailing sessions. You can sign up for these on SCM.

11am start this week, but check the times because they change according to the tides.

Instructor CPD is also happening on Saturday morning for all qualified instructors. If you would like to attend, please let Laurie know.

Sunday

2pm start for Spring 5 and 6.

A sunny 13 degrees is forecast with SE winds of 8-16mph

Monday

2pm start for the Easter Bonnet trophy

50% chance of no rain and a breezy 19-32 SW winds forecast great for sailing and spectating alike!

Volunteers are still needed to fill up the duty slots, please sign up on SCM if you are able to help. Thank you.

The Beer Festival is postponed to later on in the year. But do not despair! We would like to invite you to

'80's and Americana' on Saturday 22nd April Bar open from 4pm, food from 5.30pm

Kai will be cooking:

Homemade burgers,

Mac n cheese,

HOMEMADE Boston baked beans

New Orleans black bean stew (vegan)

Cornbread

halloumi burgers (vegetarian)

Optional toppings of bacon/cheese/lettuce/tomato/mayo/ketchup/gherkins/mustard.

There WILL be real ale. Dance floor for those who are keen, and 1980's outfits are optional but very much encouraged.

Please pre-book food to Kai on 07793611231 or confirm via the HBSC WhatsApp group, making a note if you are vegetarian or vegan. Hope you can make it!

Cost TBC but we will ensure that it will be good value for money.

Tony's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the support given by members at his funeral and during this difficult time. There will very soon be a feature article on the HBSC website about Tony and his many years of membership at the club.
