Please support Dave, Justin and Aigul in the bar tonight! Aigul is baking some Kazakh chack-chack and baursaks to celebrate Nauryz - Feast of Spring Renewal! Save yourself a trip to Kazakhstan and come to the bar tonight instead!

May 24th - barn dance

Live band and calling! Bring your own food.

£10 adults, £5 primary school aged children to cover the cost of the band.

We need a minimum of 20 people to make this viable. Friends and family are very welcome to come along. Please sign up on SCM or on WhatsApp.

Lockers

We have a few large lockers (only £14 p/a) available. If you want one please contact membership@hernebaysailingclub.co.uk . First come, first served.

Maintenance

Work party on 30th March has been cancelled. The next one is 13th April in the morning before sailing. There are various works and repairs required around the club, Anyone with trades or competent DIY skills, particularly plumbers, are needed to support the club.

Safety on the Water

Water based activities organised by HBSC require a club safety boat to be operational on the water. The safety boat requires 2 people aged 16+ with suitable experience, prepared to enter the water if necessary. There should be a designated shore based person able to operate VHF and telephone swiftly in the event of an incident.

As a volunteer club we are reliant on all members helping run activities. This includes improvers, racing and cadet activities. You can sign up on SCM on the web site. Without volunteering the club cannot function so please take the opportunity to sign up by login in at

First Aid Course

We have organised a first aid course on the 5 April provided by Simon Winkley Marine. The cost is £100 for members with discounts for those supporting training activities. The club will collect your fee, but register for the course at

Training

Training will run on Consecutive Saturdays. Attendance to both days is mandatory.

Course 1 will be on the 17th and 24th of May 2025

Course 2 will be in the 19th and 26th of July 2025

Once we have a clear idea of who wants to take a course and what you want to do the course details and links will be supplied

Dinghy Sailing Courses are £175

(inclusive of course documentation, reference book and certificate).

Powerboat courses will be delivered on a more bespoke nature, as and when we have 3 members wishing to gain the qualification, a course will be organised.

Powerboat Courses are £100, as we expect you will join our Safety Boat team.
