Events : Herne Bay Sailing Club

This weekend

Saturday - cadets and adult sailing course. Linda is going to sizzle up some sausages sizzles...some like to call is 'Snag in a rag' on the BBQ for when we come off the water! There will also be CAKE!

Work Party this Sunday morning 8-12

Guy is looking for helpers to join him this Sunday morning for a spruce up. Plenty of things to muck in with - general tidy up of sailing gear so everyone can find things! Bit of painting in the changing rooms, hedge cutting, some work on the decking...If anyone can pop down and give me a hand between 8-12 much appreciated and many hands make light work! Thank you

Last Friday of the month theme night - Next one May 23rd

Volunteers please for someone to host! Maybe a fun quiz? or BBQ? Please let Jo know so we can advertise.

May 24th - barn dance 7pm start

Live band and calling! Bring your own food.

£10 adults, £5 cadets to cover the cost of the band.

We need a minimum of 20 people to make this viable. Friends and family are very welcome to come along. Please sign up on SCM or on WhatsApp HBSC Chat. You can pay via SCM or on the sumup machine at the club. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN US PLEASE!!

You can pay on the night.

Lockers

We have a few large lockers (only £14 p/a) available. If you want one please contact membership@hernebaysailingclub.co.uk . First come, first served.

Boat and kayak stickers

Please pop into the bar area and pick up this year's boat/kayak sticker. Just as a test, the envelopes are not in alphabetical order! Please stick the stickers on your dinghy's transom or attach the tag to your kayak. Thank you.

Training will run on Consecutive Saturdays. Attendance to both days is mandatory.

Course 1 will be on the 17th and 24th of May 2025

Course 2 will be in the 19th and 26th of July 2025

Once we have a clear idea of who wants to take a course and what you want to do the course details and links will be supplied

Dinghy Sailing Courses are £175

(inclusive of course documentation, reference book and certificate).

Powerboat courses will be delivered on a more bespoke nature, as and when we have 3 members wishing to gain the qualification, a course will be organised.

Powerboat Courses are £100, as we expect you will join our Safety Boat team.
