Saturday: Open Sailing 1400 start. These are open sailing sessions for any ability. Where possible, an instructor or experienced sailor will be available to support you on the water. You do not need to sign up and it's a case of 'turn up, sails up'.
Why not stay on after for the social? See social section below.
Ian Moore has taken on the role of Saturday Open Sailing Co-ordinator, and he is looking for instructors and experienced sailors to assist and support the Saturday Sailing sessions. You can sign up for these on SCM.
Sunday: 1400 start for Spring Series 9 and 10 Race officer needed to run the race, currently no one is signed up for the galley, so self-service will be in place if no once signs up to this role, please sign up on SCM if you can help. Thank you.
Health and Safety
Darren Moor, our Health and Safety Lead has produced and displayed some very useful information on the notice board, this includes items such as actions to take in an emergency, and if you are planning to go out sailing outside of the planned club activities, cold water swimming, CPR, etc.
Slipway etiquette
We want to encourage as many people on the water as possible, and to help achieve this, the club has a slipway etiquette to help keep everyone safe and confident when launching and recovering the boats. Please take time to read it when you are next at the club, it is on the noticeboard opposite the Health and Safety information.
Power Boat Training
Tony Herlihy is our Power Boat Training Chief Instructor. He is looking to organise power boat level 2 training and/or power boat level 2 direct assessments for experienced power boat helms. If you are interested in either of these, please write your name on the list which is on the club training notice board. Currently there are only 2 names that have been written down, so please, don't be shy! If you want further information, please contact Tony, or Laurie (07814185437).

Sustainability
As a club we can only recycle glass through our waste supplier. At the moment all our cardboard goes into general waste and is not recycled. I want to improve that and wanted to engage members to help us recycle cardboard which the club produces. From 1st May, there will be a 'bin' where cardboard can go into. When you go home, please take a bit with you to put in your recycling at home. I will monitor and see if we can do it.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards from Peter Falcini, Sustainability lead.
Socials
We are so excited for the American and 80's evening tomorrow (Saturday)! Dress up is optional but encouraged!
